COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Sharon Hogg / Sharon Green

Sharon Hogg, earlier known professionally as Sharon Green, is a Colorado Springs broadcaster, programmer and educator whose career spans commercial radio and decades of work training future media professionals.

Commercial radio career

In the mid-1980s, Broadcasting yearbook records list Sharon Green at KVUU-FM 99.9 in Colorado Springs as promotion manager and news director during the station’s adult-contemporary era.

By the early 1990s, Green had moved to KKLI-FM 106.3 / K-Lite. The 1993 Broadcasting & Cable Yearbook lists her as music director, and later Radio & Records coverage documents her in several programming and on-air roles through the decade. In July 1996 she was listed as both program director and music director. By 1998 she was working middays after a shift change with Greg Allen; in June of that year, Radio & Records reported that KKLI music director/midday personality Sharon Green was stepping down.

Pikes Peak Community College / KEPC

Hogg joined Pikes Peak Community College, now Pikes Peak State College, in 1998. College catalogs document her teaching Radio/Television by the mid-2000s. By 2008 she was station manager of student-operated KEPC-FM 89.7, where she helped train students for professional careers in radio and audio production.

A 2016 Radio Survivor visit identified Hogg as both KEPC station manager and associate dean. Later industry directories list her as KEPC general manager.

Legacy

Hogg’s career connects two important sides of Southern Colorado broadcasting: commercial programming and promotion during the KVUU/KKLI years, and the development of future broadcasters through KEPC and Pikes Peak State College.
