Mike Hernandez, known professionally as Buzz Corona, is a Pueblo-born broadcaster whose work has been associated with local radio and community events in Southern Colorado.
In a 2026 report, Radio Online identified Hernandez as the leader of Great Western Radio Ltd. and reported that the company had agreed to acquire Pueblo AM station KWRP and two FM translators from United States CP LLC. The report said the transaction was pending Federal Communications Commission approval at the time. Hernandez described the agreement as a plan to bring live, locally focused radio back to his hometown.
Hernandez’s earlier Pueblo broadcasting work includes an association with SoCo Radio/Pueblo Broadcasting Company. His professional profile also describes event emcee and DJ work and attendance at Colorado State University Pueblo from 1985 to 1988.
Where Are They Now? (as of October 2026)
The latest transaction report located for this biography described Hernandez as leading the proposed KWRP purchase; it did not confirm that the sale had closed. The Colorado Broadcasters Association’s current KWRP-AM listing identifies the station’s owner as Western Radio, Ltd. The ownership relationship and closing status have not been independently confirmed here.
