COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

JJ Valentine

JJ Valentine is a Colorado sports broadcaster whose work has included radio, internet audio and live video coverage of high-school and community athletics.

Colorado radio and sports coverage

Historical station records place Valentine on the air at KSKE-FM (106.3) in Kremmling during the 1980s. KSKE’s locally programmed mix of adult contemporary, Top 40 and rock included a large live airstaff operating from the upper floor of Kremmling’s old Ramona Theater.

Valentine later became closely associated with Pueblo sports broadcasting and the SoCo Sports service, covering local teams and tournaments for listeners online and over the air.

Valentine has been a recurring broadcaster for the Tony Andenucio Memorial Baseball Tournament at Runyon Field. Runyon Field records identify him as the radio voice of the tournament championship game in 2024 and note that, by 2025, he was covering the event for a fourth consecutive year. His coverage expanded beyond radio to livestreamed games on YouTube.

Recognition

The Colorado High School Coaches Association selected Valentine for its 2025 Media Award. The organization’s official recipient list identifies him with SoCo Sports.
