Work in Colorado
Kevin Callahan was a programming leader in Clear Channel’s Colorado Springs cluster in the early 2000s. Contemporary directories identify him as program director of KKLI-FM 106.3 and KVUU-FM 99.9, while Radio & Records identified him as the cluster operations manager.
Callahan also helped create and program KMOM-FM “Mother 96.1.” A July 2001 R&R profile reported that Callahan and Clear Channel regional vice president of programming Rich Hawkins developed the classic-rock format after reviewing local research. Callahan devised the station’s “Mother” tattoo-style logo and described its locally programmed, harder-edged presentation.
