Charnell Mayer is a Pueblo native and former Southern Colorado radio professional whose broadcasting career lasted approximately a decade. A Junior League of Pueblo biography says Mayer graduated from Pueblo South High School, attended the University of Northern Colorado and transferred to Washington State University, where she graduated from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communications. After college she returned to Pueblo and began a career in radio with Clear Channel Broadcasting. Mayer’s biography says she spent 10 years in radio before moving to St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center as marketing and communications coordinator. Local recollection supplied to the Colorado Radio Archive places Mayer at KDZA during her Pueblo radio career; archived station documentation is being sought to establish the exact dates and air role. Mayer later became an owner and chief financial officer of Thornton Medical in Pueblo.
