COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Darren McKee

Darren “D-Mac” McKee worked in Southern Colorado radio during the mid-2000s after an earlier run in Denver rock radio.

In May 2005, Radio & Records reported that the former KBPI/Denver personality joined KVUU/My 99.9 mornings with Craig Coffey. When Coffey left for Seattle in August 2006, local coverage identified Coba and Darren McKee as the remaining morning cohosts while KVUU auditioned replacements.

McKee later recalled that he commuted from Denver to work mornings in Colorado Springs and eventually became a Program Director. A later station-contact directory independently identifies Darren McKee as Program Director of KDZA-FM, and a syndicated-program testimonial likewise identifies him as KDZA Program Director in Colorado Springs.

McKee later became widely known in Denver sports radio as “D-Mac.”
