Darrin Arriens

Darrin Arriens was a veteran multi-format radio programmer whose career included programming responsibilities for both KKFM and KKMG in Colorado Springs.

On April 17, 2009, Radio & Records reported that Arriens had joined Citadel as Music Director for both classic-rock KKFM and CHR/Top 40 KKMG (98.9 Magic FM). He arrived from KHYT/Tucson, where he had been Program Director of the classic-hits station. His earlier programming experience included WKLQ and WHTS/Grand Rapids.

Later career accounts identify Arriens as having served as Program Director of KKFM and KKMG, extending his Colorado Springs role beyond the original dual-station MD appointment. His subsequent career included senior programming and operations roles in several markets, eventually becoming Director of Operations for Entercom Charlotte and Program Director of WLNK.

Arriens died in April 2020 following complications from COVID-19. Industry remembrances described a roughly 30-year broadcasting career spanning multiple formats and markets.
