Mike Atencio was a key figure in the modern history of KTSC-FM at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
University records identify Atencio as KTSC-FM manager during the 2008–09 academic year, when the 10,000-watt educational station operated as a hands-on laboratory for advanced mass-communications students and served roughly a 50-mile radius around the Pueblo campus.
His tenure falls within the Rev 89 era, after KTSC adopted “The Revolution” identity in 1995 and before the station’s later national recognition as a leading student-operated college station.
