COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Michael Carrigan

Michael Carrigan was part of the KKCS staff in Colorado Springs during the station’s country era.

Contemporary national country-radio trade coverage documents Carrigan as Promotion Director at KKCS. In April 2001, Billboard Country Airplay reported that Carrigan had exited the station. KKCS part-timer Kevin Wilz and marketing student Leah Wicks were promoted to share the promotion-director responsibilities following his departure.

Carrigan’s Colorado Springs radio career continued beyond KKCS. By 2008 he was Promotions Director at classic-rock KKFM in the Citadel Colorado Springs cluster. Radio & Records reported in August 2008 that Carrigan was among the staff affected by Citadel budget cuts, firmly documenting his later cluster role.

Carrigan also worked in the Clear Channel Colorado Springs operation during his local radio career; that portion of his chronology remains under research for exact station assignments, title and dates.
