Phil Emmert is a longtime Colorado Springs broadcasting sales executive whose local media career spans the KRDO and Citadel eras.
By 1983, the Colorado Springs Sun identified Emmert as Sales Manager at KRDO radio. In an article about the craft and effectiveness of radio advertising, Emmert discussed radio’s relationship with listeners and advertisers.
Emmert later became a senior sales executive with Citadel Communications in Colorado Springs. In 2005, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb identified him as General Sales Manager for Citadel Communications while announcing him as the event’s Second Vice Chairman. Citadel’s Colorado Springs cluster included several of the market’s major stations during this period.
Emmert later worked in television advertising at KRDO, continuing a long career in Colorado Springs media sales. He also maintained a longstanding leadership role with the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and remained involved with the event decades later.
