KRTS was the first call sign assigned to the 1040 AM facility licensed to Monument, Colorado that today operates as KPPF.
FCC call-sign records show KRTS became effective on June 12, 1986. The call letters were used only briefly before the station became KKRE on Sept. 18, 1986.
This KRTS is a different facility from the earlier KRTS identity used on 1490 AM in Manitou Springs/Colorado Springs.
Facility: 1040 AM, Monument — FCC Facility ID 10846.
