Stix Franklin is a radio personality and programmer whose career included a notable stop at country station KKCS (KCS 102) in Colorado Springs during the early 2000s.
Franklin began his radio career with the children’s radio network Radio Aahs, where he worked through the network’s run. After a brief period in Utah, he moved to Colorado Springs and joined KKCS/KCS 102. Contemporary trade material documents Franklin serving as Music Director at KKCS in 2003, in addition to his on-air work.
Franklin later recalled Colorado Springs as an especially memorable stop in his career, particularly because of his interest in mountain biking and skiing. His time at KKCS came during the station’s country era and places him among the programmers and personalities who shaped the station before its later changes in ownership, facilities and market identity.
In October 2004, radio trade publication Main Street Tattler reported that Brian “Stix Franklin” Cappock was leaving KKCS/Colorado Springs to take the evening shift at WNCY/Green Bay. Franklin’s own later biography likewise states that he returned to the Upper Midwest and Green Bay in 2004.
Southern Colorado roles: KKCS/KCS 102 on-air personality and Music Director.
Where Are They Now?
Franklin later returned to radio in Green Bay, including midday work at WQLH/Star 98. His station biography also documents his completion of a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology — Exercise Science from the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay in 2012. A sufficiently current source confirming his professional status in 2026 has not yet been located, so the archive does not presently list a 2026 role.
