KPAW-FM was the call sign used by a Fort Collins-area station on 107.9 FM, branded “The Bear.” The entry documents that historical identity; the 107.9 frequency later became part of the KBPI service to Northern Colorado.
History
KPAW programmed classic rock for Fort Collins and the Northern Front Range. In December 2017, the station’s programming and call letters moved to KYWY at 92.9 FM in Cheyenne. The 107.9 frequency was then used to extend KBPI’s active-rock programming into the Fort Collins market, while the Denver KBPI service continued on its principal signal. This sequence reflects a change in programming and call-sign assignments across related facilities; it should not be read as a single transmitter simply changing frequency.
