History
KPMX began broadcasting on August 19, 1983, under the call sign KVRS. The call sign changed to KMXX in 1984 and to KPMX in 1990. The station has continued as a local commercial service for the Sterling area, with a hot adult contemporary format reported in station listings. Its associated broadcast group also operates regional news, sports and music services in northeastern Colorado.
