Reggie Rivers is a former Denver Broncos running back who built a second public career in Denver broadcasting, including sports reporting and talk radio.
After playing for the Broncos from 1991 through 1996, Rivers moved into media. His background as a professional athlete gave him a natural entry into sports broadcasting, but his radio work expanded beyond sports. By the late 1990s he was working at KOA, including a late-evening shift, before Clear Channel moved him to KHOW.
In 1999, Rivers took over KHOW’s 3–7 p.m. afternoon-drive program after Jay Marvin left for WLS in Chicago. Clear Channel’s Denver AM programming director Robin Bertolucci described Rivers at the time as a community fixture whose personality and perspective made him a strong fit for the talk format.
Rivers subsequently developed a career outside daily radio as an author, speaker, emcee and fundraising professional, drawing on both his NFL and broadcasting experience.
Where Are They Now?
As of October 2026: Rivers operates The Gala Team, a Colorado-based fundraising and benefit-auction business. His current professional work focuses on helping nonprofit organizations raise money at live fundraising events, continuing the public-speaking and audience-engagement skills that characterized his years in professional sports and broadcasting.
