KMSA-FM

KMSA (91.3 FM), branded Music for the Mavs, is the college radio station of Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. Its adult album alternative programming combines music selected by student broadcasters with campus and community content.

History

KMSA began broadcasting on February 20, 1975, from the campus of then-Mesa College. Its early studio was assembled in repurposed campus rooms, including a closet and a restroom, and the station initially relied on borrowed equipment. The operation developed as a student-run service and remains tied to Colorado Mesa University. Its call letters are associated with “Mesa.”
