History
The facility began broadcasting on July 1, 1995, as KWXA. It became KPTE in 1998 and adopted KKDG in 2014. In September 2024 the station dropped its Top 40 format and briefly used a dog-themed stunt; on October 3, 2024, it relaunched as Radio Free Durango with an adult album alternative format.
