KTPF-FM

KTPF-FM broadcasts on 91.3 MHz from a facility licensed to Salida, Colorado. The noncommercial educational station is part of the KTLF Radio Network and carries “The Light,” the network’s contemporary worship and praise service. Its low-power signal is a local outlet within a listener-supported, commercial-free ministry whose programming is distributed across Colorado and neighboring states.

History

The facility was proposed in a 1999 application and received the KTPF call sign in November 2005. Educational Communications of Colorado Springs, Inc. received the station’s license to cover in October 2007, authorizing the completed noncommercial educational FM facility in Salida. A 2009 edition of the M Street Radio Directory listed KTPF as a religious-teaching station repeating KTLF, documenting its role as a regional relay of the Colorado Springs network.

KTPF’s history is connected to the broader growth of the KTLF Radio Network. The network began broadcasting as a listener-supported radio ministry in Colorado Springs on February 27, 1989. In 1992 it began uplinking its programming by satellite, allowing it to expand its reach through additional full-power stations and translators. KTPF extends “The Light” service into the Upper Arkansas Valley around Salida.
