KBIQ-FM

Studio history

Salem Communications operated KBIQ and KGFT from 6760 Corporate Drive, Suite 340 in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Contemporary industry directories document the stations there through the 2002–03 period. By 2004, records place KBIQ at 7150 Campus Drive, Suite 150, establishing that Salem moved the operation from Corporate Drive to Campus Drive around 2003–04. Later Salem directories list the Colorado Springs cluster at the Campus Drive facility.

Archive note: KBIQ/Salem should not be confused with Citadel/Cumulus at 6805 Corporate Drive; these were separate radio facilities.

2024–25 ownership and programming change

In December 2024, Salem Media Group agreed to sell KBIQ 102.7 to Educational Media Foundation (EMF) as part of an $80 million transaction involving seven of Salem’s contemporary Christian music stations. The sale was part of Salem’s broader effort to reduce debt and exit its remaining music-formatted Christian stations.

KBIQ’s longtime locally branded Christian music service ended on January 31, 2025. Beginning February 1, 2025, EMF assumed programming and 102.7 began carrying the national K-LOVE Christian music service. The KBIQ call letters and 102.7 FM frequency remained in use.

As of 2026, EMF’s K-LOVE station directory continues to list KBIQ 102.7 as its Colorado Springs signal.
