KAVI-FM was an FM radio station licensed to Rocky Ford, Colorado, serving the Arkansas Valley and Pueblo region. It began broadcasting in May 1966 at 95.9 MHz and moved to 95.5 MHz in 1989. The facility later used the calls KOOO, KJQY and KPHT.
History
KAVI-FM developed as a regional music outlet for southeastern Colorado. Its original 95.9 MHz assignment changed to 95.5 MHz in 1989. The KAVI-FM call sign remained in use until 1999, when the station became KOOO. Subsequent call signs included KJQY and KPHT. The same facility’s later identity belongs to a different station-era record in this archive.
