KHII was the call sign of Colorado Springs’ 105.5 FM station from 1991 to 1996. Branded “K-High,” it carried country music. In 1996 it changed to KSKX and adopted the smooth-jazz brand “Sax 105.5.”
History
KHII followed KBZE, “The Breeze,” on the 105.5 MHz frequency. Optima Communications entered a local marketing agreement with Pikes Peak Broadcasting in 1993. The station changed formats and call letters in 1996, becoming KSKX. Subsequent calls included KCCY-FM and KRDO-FM, with the facility later serving as a country station in the Colorado Springs market.
