KSKX was the call sign used on Colorado Springs’ 105.5 MHz station from 1996 to 2006. Branded “Sax 105.5,” it aired smooth jazz after the station dropped its earlier country music identity as KHII.
History
The KSKX era began in 1996 after the “K-High” country format ended. The station’s smooth-jazz programming continued until 2006, when News-Press & Gazette began operating the station, changed it to a news/talk format and adopted the KRDO-FM call sign. NPG later acquired the station. The frequency has since returned to country programming in the Colorado Springs market.
