Bill Thorpe is a Denver-born broadcaster whose career has crossed music, news, sports and talk radio at both the local and national levels.
Denver radio career
Thorpe worked behind the scenes and on the air in Denver radio, including as a producer at KHOW-AM and as a talk host during the early-2000s KNRC era. His long local career placed him on the air for major Colorado stories including the Columbine High School shooting, the JonBenét Ramsey investigation and championship seasons for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche.
In 2024, KNUS-AM paired Thorpe with Jeff Hunt for The Jeff and Bill Show. The weekday program combines current events and political discussion, with Hunt approaching subjects from a conservative perspective and Thorpe providing an independent viewpoint.
National music radio
Thorpe also spent many years with Westwood One’s nationally distributed music formats. Industry reporting described a twelve-year run hosting an evening rock program carried by more than 150 affiliate stations. His modern- and classic-rock work has also been heard through the Armed Forces Network.
