Emily Makinzie is a Denver radio personality known for an upbeat, community-minded style and a career spanning two of the market’s adult-contemporary stations.
Colorado radio career
Makinzie spent roughly a decade at KIMN-FM (Mix 100). Her work there included the Dom & Jane with Emily & Jeremy morning show and a midday airshift. She joined KOSI-FM (KOSI 101.1) in early 2019 as a weekend and fill-in host and was subsequently promoted to afternoon drive. KOSI describes her as its resident “Ray of Sunshine” and notes that she has been heard on Denver radio for more than a decade.
Outside her regular airshift, Makinzie has worked as an imaging voice and event emcee. Her background in theatre and improv is part of the performance style she brings to the microphone.
Awards and recognition
Makinzie has received multiple honors from the Colorado Broadcasters Association, including an Award of Excellence for Best Denver Radio Personality. In the CBA’s 2020 Metro Market Radio awards, Emily Makinzie’s Thirty Second Updates earned a Certificate of Merit for Best Use of Digital/Social Media.
