Robbie Knight was a Denver rock-radio personality, writer and producer remembered for his work at 103.5 The Fox and 99.5 The Mountain.
Denver radio career
At KRFX-FM (103.5 The Fox), Knight hosted middays while also producing imaging and programs for stations across the country. Westword’s account of the voice-tracking era documented how his Denver airshift sat alongside customized work for outlets in Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, Wichita, El Paso, Houston and other markets.
Knight later became a longtime personality at KQMT-FM (99.5 The Mountain). In 2008 he moved into the noon-to-4 p.m. shift as the station reorganized after Archer’s departure. Contemporary aircheck accounts continued to document him on The Mountain in 2010.
Beyond commercial radio, Knight worked as managing editor of Denver Green Streets and produced interviews and sustainability coverage. Colorado radio historian Jeremy Levy reported that Knight died in February 2024 following throat cancer.
