KSKE-FM (106.3) was the original Kremmling-era identity of the FM facility now known as KIFT-FM.
History
The station was assigned the KSKE call sign in August 1983 and operated from Kremmling at 106.3 MHz. Contemporary records describe a locally programmed mix of adult contemporary, Top 40 and album-oriented rock. The studios were located in the upper floor of Kremmling’s old Ramona Theater.
Former staff recollections identify an unusually hands-on local operation with live personalities throughout the day. The station changed calls to KTLD-FM in September 1987, beginning the next chapter in the facility lineage that later became KRKM, KKHI, KZMV and finally KIFT.
Staff
Historical accounts identify JJ Valentine among the KSKE air staff during the mid-1980s.
