KRCN 1060 is a Catholic station licensed to Longmont, and it’s Longmont’s original radio station, KLMO. KLMO signed on in December 1949 on 1050, a 250-watt daytimer owned by Longmont Broadcasting, playing full-service country for Longmont and Denver’s northern suburbs. It moved to 1060 in 1965, grew to 10,000 watts in the 1980s and later got permission to stay on at night with reduced power.
On March 22, 2000, it switched to business and personal-finance talk as “The Radio Colorado Network” and took the KRCN call letters. On January 1, 2015, it became an owned-and-operated station of Kansas City’s Catholic Radio Network.
