D. P. Pinkston was an owner of KPIK 1580 and KPIK-FM in Colorado Springs during the late 1960s. The 1969 Broadcasting Yearbook lists Pinkston as a partner in Western Broadcasting Company, the owner of the two country-formatted stations.
KPIK-FM became an early full-time country outlet for the market. It was sold separately in 1978 and later became KILO.
