Kevin “K Cheeba” Hopkins is a Colorado Springs programmer and radio personality whose career included long tenures with both Citadel and iHeartMedia.
Hopkins joined KIBT/96.1 The Beat in 2010 after roughly a decade working for Citadel’s Colorado Springs operation. He eventually became KIBT’s program director and afternoon personality.
His afternoon show won Colorado Broadcasters Association major-market recognition, including Best Afternoon Show in 2020. CBA records also credit Hopkins on station promotions and community-oriented projects at KIBT.
Hopkins left KIBT during iHeartMedia restructuring in 2024.
2023 CBA Award credit: Cheeba Hopkins was credited with Aaron Kinnischtzke for the Award of Excellence in Best Station Promotion/Marketing Campaign, “Beat’s Best Seats Summer of Concert Tickets” (KIBT-FM), and for two Certificates of Merit: “Beats Eats and Sneaks/Beat Down Producer Battle” and “The Box State Mic Drop.” Official CBA 2023 radio results.
