KSKE-FM (106.3) was the original Kremmling-era identity of the FM station now known as KIFT-FM. If you grew up in Kremmling in the 80s, this was your local FM, broadcasting from above the old Ramona Theater.
History
The KSKE call sign was assigned in August 1983, and the station operated from Kremmling at 106.3 MHz. Records from the time describe a locally programmed mix of adult contemporary, Top 40 and album-oriented rock. The studios were on the upper floor of Kremmling’s old Ramona Theater.
Former staff remember an unusually hands-on local operation with live personalities all day. The calls changed to KTLD-FM in September 1987, starting the next chapter of a lineage that later became KRKM, KKHI, KZMV and finally KIFT.
