COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Kevin Lockhart

Kevin Lockhart is a Southern Colorado broadcaster and voice professional whose radio roots include Pueblo and Colorado Springs. Lockhart attended Colorado State University-Pueblo from 1991 to 1995, working on-air at KTSC-FM 89.5 and serving as assistant station manager.

By 1995 Lockhart was working professionally in Pueblo radio. The September 15, 1995 Gavin Report reported that KYZX-Pueblo promoted Kevin Lockhart to program and music director, replacing J. Diamond Salas. Lockhart’s Pueblo career also included KDZA and KCCY/Y96.9. A surviving Big Apple Airchecks catalog entry documents a KCCY Y96.9 Pueblo aircheck featuring Kevin Lockhart recorded July 25, 2006, providing direct evidence of his on-air work at the station.

Lockhart later worked in the Colorado Springs iHeart/Clear Channel operation. A 2018 EEO report for the KKLI/KCCY/KIBT/KVUU/KBPL/KPHT/KCSJ/KDZA station group identifies Lockhart in production and notes that he mentored an employee in broadcast skills. The Colorado Broadcasters Association’s 2019 Awards of Excellence also credits Kevin Lockhart and KVUU for the award-winning Solar Roast Coffee commercial.

Lockhart later established Voiceovers by Kevin Lockhart in Colorado Springs, continuing a career in voiceover, copywriting and audio production.
