Dave Milne

Dave Milne was a Colorado Springs rock-radio personality and programmer whose local career included KATM 100.7 and KILO 94.3.

Milne was already part of the Colorado Springs rock-radio scene by 1990. When KATM PD Doug Sorenson transferred to KATT/Oklahoma City in March 1990, Billboard reported that Milne moved from KATM nights to mornings. He later worked morning drive at KATT in Oklahoma City, the station Sorenson had moved to.

Radio & Records reported on Sept. 17, 1993 that Milne, then identified as the former KATT/Oklahoma City morning host, had returned to Colorado Springs and joined KILO for nights.

When KILO Music Director/Assistant Program Director Alan White left in February 1994, The Hard Report reported that Milne would move from nights to afternoon drive and take over the Assistant Program Director duties.

Milne was prominently involved in KILO’s 1994 move to 94.3 FM. A Sept. 9, 1994 Radio & Records story on the station’s billboard campaign identified him as KILO’s Assistant Program Director. The station used life-size dummies on billboards carrying a “change to 94.3” message; Milne told the trade that one dummy fell and another was found pierced with arrows.

By August 1995, R&R active-rock listings identified Milne as KILO APD/MD. By December 1995 he remained APD while Rob Hunter was listed as Music Director, and January 1996 listings still showed Milne as Assistant Program Director.
