Russ Gerber was a Colorado Springs radio programmer and personality who helped shape KSPZ during its late-1970s contemporary-music period.
By February 1979, Radio & Records identified Gerber as Program Director of KSPZ (Z-93 FM), then seeking current Top 40 record service for the station.
In July 1979, Broadcasting reported that Gerber, then Operations Director for KSPZ and KVOR, had been promoted to national program director for Sunbelt Communications. In that role he gained programming responsibility for Sunbelt stations in Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, San Luis Obispo and Fresno.
Later career records place Gerber at KEZR/San Jose from 1981–83 and in syndicated religious radio.
