Charlie Stone was a news broadcaster at KVOR 740 AM in Colorado Springs.
Stone worked as a KVOR news anchor, part of the newsroom tradition at the heritage Colorado Springs news/talk station. His identity as the former KVOR broadcaster has also been confirmed through a Colorado Radio Archive oral-history contribution.
Longtime KVOR personality Jim Arthur later recalled that Stone retired from KVOR because of an illness and died a couple of months afterward.
Research is continuing into Stone’s exact years at KVOR, specific newscasts and other broadcasting work so that his career can be placed more precisely on the Southern Colorado radio timeline.
