KJAC-FM

April 2004

KJAC 105.5 becomes an early U.S. Jack FM

In April 2004, 105.5 FM serving Northern Colorado adopted the KJAC calls and the Jack FM variety-hits format. The station was among the earliest U.S. outlets to use the Jack branding and became a notable bridge between the Fort Collins and Denver radio markets.

September 2012

KJAC ends Jack FM and joins ESPN simulcast

In September 2012, KJAC 105.5 ended its Jack FM format. After briefly stunting as classic-country Bob FM, the Timnath/Fort Collins signal moved to a simulcast of Denver sports station KDSP/ESPN 102.3.

February 29, 2016

KJAC launches The Colorado Sound

Community Radio for Northern Colorado launched the noncommercial adult album alternative service The Colorado Sound on KJAC 105.5 FM on February 29, 2016. The change followed the organization’s agreement to acquire KJAC from Front Range Sports Networks, ending the station’s ESPN sports programming and creating a music-focused companion to KUNC.
