The 1430 AM facility signed on December 1, 1954 as KOSI. Bill Armstrong bought the station in 1959 at age 22 after an unusually early career as a teenage Top 40 disc jockey. Under Armstrong, KOSI developed into a successful Denver beautiful-music operation and added KOSI-FM 101.1 in 1968.
In 1981 the AM became KEZW and adopted adult standards, a format it retained for more than three decades. KEZW later carried oldies and soft oldies before flipping to sports-betting programming as “1430 AM The Bet” in January 2021. The call letters changed to KAMP that April.
Lineage: KOSI-AM → KEZW → KAMP.
