COLORADO RADIO PERSONALITY

Renae Roberts

Renae Roberts is a longtime Colorado Springs broadcaster whose local career included KVUU, KKLI and KRDO. In a 2017 Colorado Springs Gazette interview, Roberts recalled returning to Colorado Springs in 1995 and joining KVUU, where she initially became part of Captain Dan Jackson and Paul Richards’ morning show as their “Stunt Girl.” Her KVUU duties expanded across overnights, mornings, middays, production and traffic.

In 1999 Roberts joined Captain Dan and Paul Richards full-time on the KKLI 106.3 morning show. The trio became one of the market’s recognizable morning teams, remaining together for roughly six years. Surviving Colorado Springs Gazette photography from 2004 identifies Captain Dan Jackson, Renae Roberts and Paul Richards together as the K-Lite morning team.

Roberts later returned to local radio news. In 2017 she joined KRDO NewsRadio as morning co-anchor, succeeding her longtime friend and former KKLI colleague Paul Richards after his death in December 2016.

After her years on the K-Lite morning show, Roberts moved into the Clear Channel cluster’s website and Internet Services work around 2005 and remained in that role until 2011. She returned to the air at KKFM in 2013, then joined KVOR mornings in 2014, before moving to KRDO NewsRadio in February 2017. These career dates come from Roberts’ own account in The Gazette’s February 2, 2017 interview.
