Rush Evans

Rush Evans was a Southern Colorado broadcasting executive associated with Garvey Communications’ radio operations.

The 1966 Broadcasting Yearbook lists Evans as general manager of KKFM 96.5 in Colorado Springs. KKFM had been acquired by Garvey Communications in 1963 and was affiliated with sister television station KKTV. The station’s management team included station manager Sterling Campbell, commercial manager George Jeffrey, news director Hal Kennedy and chief engineer H. Cozine Strang.

Evans is also documented in connection with Garvey’s KKAM 1350 in Pueblo, extending his role across Southern Colorado broadcasting.

The 1969 Broadcasting Yearbook lists KKFM 96.5 at 23 kW from an antenna 2,300 feet above average terrain under Garvey Communications, which had acquired the station in 1963. Rush K. Evans was general manager; George Jeffrey commercial manager; Sterling Campbell station manager; Hal Kennedy news director; and H. Cozine Strang chief engineer.
