KKAM-AM

KKAM was the call sign used from 1964 until 1976 on Pueblo’s 1350 AM facility, succeeding the original KGHF identity.

Garvey Communications era

The 1966 Broadcasting Yearbook listed KKAM under Garvey Communications Systems. Its staff included Rush Evans as general manager, William Beck as station and sales manager, Denny Hawkins as program director, Earl Bradshaw as news director and Antonio Mejia as chief engineer.

Facility history

The 1350 facility began as KGHF in 1928. After twelve years as KKAM, the station became KIDN in 1976. Later identities included KRYT, a return to KGHF, KDZA, KCCY, KBPL and KUBE.
