KAPI-AM

KAPI was the principal 690 AM Pueblo identity from the late 1950s until 1981. A 1966 Broadcasting Yearbook listed George Sandoval as president, general manager, commercial manager, promotions manager and program director, with Henry Reyes as news director and James Glusick as chief engineer. Contemporary directories show the station carrying substantial Spanish-language programming.

Paired / sister stations: KAPI added KAPI-FM 107.1 in October 1979. The FM extended Spanish-language service into nighttime hours. In 1981 both stations adopted the KRMX calls.
