Ray J. Williams was a Pueblo broadcasting executive whose career included leadership roles at KCSJ and KAPP/KAPI.
The 1955 Broadcasting Yearbook listed Williams as vice president of KCSJ. By 1957 he was president of the station’s ownership company. A 1960 directory then listed him as president and general manager of KAPP 690, the facility that soon became KAPI.
His career therefore connected two important Pueblo AM lineages: heritage KCSJ 590 and the Spanish-language 690 facility later known as KAPI, KRMX and KWRP.
