KJQY was the call sign used from 2002 to 2005 on the 95.5 FM facility licensed to Rocky Ford and serving Pueblo and Southern Colorado.

Place in the facility’s history

The station began as KAVI-FM on 95.9 MHz in 1966. It moved to 95.5 MHz in 1989 as part of an upgrade and later used the calls KOOO. The KJQY period followed in 2002. In 2005 the facility became KPHT.

Call-sign timeline

KAVI-FM → KOOO → KJQY (2002–2005) → KPHT

Technical context

The licensed facility is FCC facility ID 87658. Later records identify it as a Class C1 station, a useful reminder that KJQY belongs to the same Rocky Ford-based signal rather than to similarly named stations in other states.
