Tony Lopez was chief engineer for Clear Channel’s Pueblo radio cluster, including KCCY, KDZA, KCSJ, KGHF and KJQY.
Engineering the Pueblo cluster
In a March 10, 2004 Radio World article written by Lopez, he described the Pueblo engineering team’s use of wireless technology to give personalities remote control of station automation and console functions. The system was tested at the Colorado State Fair and allowed talent to control programming computers from remote locations through the company network.
The article identified Lopez as chief engineer for KCCY-FM, KDZA-FM, KCSJ-AM, KGHF-AM and KJQY-FM and pictured him with fellow engineers Dennis Mountford and Marty Muniz. M Street directories also listed Lopez as the cluster engineer in 2002–03 and continued to identify him with the Pueblo stations in 2008–09.
