Eugene Powers was a co-owner of the Colorado Springs radio operation that included KVOR-AM, KVOR-FM and later KSPZ-FM.
Wolverine Broadcasting
Contemporary Broadcasting reports identify Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Powers as owners of Wolverine Broadcasting Corp. alongside company president and general manager James W. Vinall. Wolverine controlled the KVOR/KSPZ AM-FM combination until the late-1970s sale process.
A former employee who worked at the operation from 1973 to 1978 remembered the owner as “Eugene B. Power.” Because contemporary trade publications consistently use the surname Powers, the archive uses that published spelling while preserving the employee’s recollection as an alternate form pending additional primary documentation.
