Bob Rubin spent 47 years in Colorado radio and television as a disc jockey, sportscaster, salesman, station co-owner and manager. If you listened to KOA radio or watched KOA-TV in the 1970s, you were hearing and seeing his work.
Colorado radio career
Bob started on the night shift at KYOU in Greeley, then moved to KMYR in Denver. From April 1, 1960, to April 1, 1965, he co-owned KMOR with Bob Martin and Tim O’Connor, a station aimed at Denver’s south suburbs. He went on to sell advertising for KTLN and served as national sales manager for KOSI.
KOA years and after
In the early 1970s Bob covered weekend sports on KOA-TV and sports on KOA radio. He then became KOA radio’s program director and later operations manager for KOA radio and television. He left KOA in 1979 and later ran the Resources Communications Center at the Colorado School of Mines.

April 1, 1960: Bob Rubin becomes co-owner of KMOR
Former KYOU and KMYR announcer Bob Rubin became a co-owner of KMOR on April 1, 1960, along with Bob Martin and Tim O'Connor. The station targeted Denver's south suburbs, and Rubin's ownership ran exactly five years, to April 1, 1965.
1979: Bob Rubin leaves KOA
Bob Rubin, who had risen from KOA sports reporter to KOA radio program director and then operations manager for KOA radio and television, left the station in 1979.
