KKHK-FM

KKHK was the classic-rock identity introduced on Denver’s 99.5 FM frequency in 1996. The change followed the transfer of the commercial classical KVOD service to 92.5 FM. At midnight on March 4, 1996, 99.5 began the “The Hawk” classic-rock format under the KKHK call letters.

In January 2002, Tribune sold the 99.5 facility to Entercom. Later that year, KKHK was renamed “The Mountain” and the call letters became KQMT. KKHK is preserved here as the intermediate identity on the same 99.5 FM facility.
