Sharing terms
Thanks for helping save Colorado radio history
The Colorado Radio Archive exists because people like you saved the stuff: the airchecks, photos, documents, and memories. Here’s how sharing with us works, in plain English.
What you’re agreeing to when you upload
- It’s yours to share. You made it, you own it, or you have the owner’s permission to share it. If you’re not sure, tell us what you know when you submit and we’ll talk it through before anything goes up.
- You give us permission to use it. By uploading, you give the archive and its operator, Dan Hardee Entertainment LLC, a free, non-exclusive license to store, back up, display, stream, trim, resize, and make thumbnails of your submission, and to share it on the archive’s own pages and its YouTube and social media accounts, as part of this non-commercial history project. You keep ownership of whatever rights you had, and you can ask us to remove it any time.
- We may edit how it’s presented. That can mean trimming long music sections from an aircheck, lightly editing a story for length and clarity, fixing titles, adding dates, or linking it to the right station and people.
- Be straight with us. Please don’t upload anything you know someone else owns and wouldn’t want shared. That includes newspaper and magazine articles: unless you own the rights or the publisher has said it’s okay, check with us first.
Airchecks and music
An aircheck can include songs, jingles, and commercials that belong to other people. Please take the songs out before you send it. We’re after the radio history: the talk breaks, news, legal IDs, and station jingles. If a file you send still has songs in it, we’ll trim them out or send it back before anything goes up, and we may not be able to post it.
People in the recordings and photos
This archive is about remembering people who worked in Colorado radio. If you appear in something here, or you spoke on a recording, and you’d like it removed or corrected, just ask. We’ll respond quickly and don’t need a long explanation. Use the removal request page.
What we do in return
- Credit you if you’d like to be credited.
- Take down anything the rightful owner asks us to remove.
- Keep the archive free to read for everyone.
Questions? We’re happy to talk it through before you send anything.
