Kevin Godwin is a radio executive who ran Citadel’s Colorado Springs stations for a short stretch in 2006–07, between two chapters in Boise, Idaho. If you listened to KKFM, KKMG, Cat Country 95.1 or KVOR in those years, he was the boss behind the scenes.
Getting started and Boise
Kevin began in radio at Washington State University, working as an account executive and general sales manager at student-run KUGR-FM. The National Association of Broadcasters says he worked for Citadel from 1994 to 2007. By 2002–03 he was general manager of Citadel’s Boise stations, and a 2003 University of Idaho announcement names him vice president and general manager of the six-station Boise cluster: KBOI-AM, KQFC-FM, KKGL-FM, KIZN-FM, KZMG-FM and KTIK-AM.
Colorado Springs
In 2006 Citadel moved him to Colorado Springs, and trade coverage that summer called him the Colorado Springs general manager, newly promoted to a Citadel regional vice president role after serving as Boise market manager. He oversaw KKFM, KKMG, KATC / Cat Country 95.1 and KVOR during a time of major change that included the launch of Cat Country on 95.1.
Back to Boise and the NAB
His Colorado Springs stay was short. In 2007 he left Citadel and returned to Boise as senior vice president and market manager of the newly formed Peak Broadcasting, which picked up stations there as part of Citadel’s ABC Radio deal. Townsquare Media bought Peak in November 2013, and Kevin stayed on, eventually becoming a senior vice president over operations, business development and performance for Townsquare’s West Region. In 2022 he was appointed to the NAB Radio Board of Directors. He holds a business administration and marketing degree from Washington State University.
