KATC-FM (95.1 MHz), branded Cat Country 95.1, is a commercial country music station licensed to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and serving the Colorado Springs–Pueblo region. It is owned by Cumulus Media and is affiliated with Westwood One. Its transmitter is near Cheyenne Mountain State Park; its signal is also relayed by a low-power translator in Cañon City.
History
The station began broadcasting on October 1, 1969, as KRDO-FM, a sister station to KRDO-AM. It was initially owned by Harry Hoth’s Pikes Peak Broadcasting Company and played beautiful music before moving to easy listening. In 1994 it adopted the “Peak 95.1” identity and a soft adult contemporary format, later shifting to hot adult contemporary.
After Citadel Broadcasting acquired the station, KRDO-FM changed to country as Cat Country 95.1 on July 1, 2006, and adopted the call sign KATC-FM. The Peak name and adult contemporary format moved to sister station KKPK at 92.9 FM later that year. KATC used the “Nash FM 95.1” brand from 2014 until returning to Cat Country in April 2020.
