Tammy Oakland is a Colorado radio personality, voice talent and producer whose Southern Colorado career included KATM, KKCS, KKPK, KATC-FM and KKLI/Sunny 106.3.
Oakland has said her radio career began at KATM 100.7 The Kat, first working as the station mascot before getting a chance to fill an overnight on-air shift. She later attended the Colorado Institute of Art, where she studied Music and Video Business with an emphasis in audio engineering.
By the mid-1990s, Oakland was at KKCS. Her later professional history lists KKCS from 1996 to 2000, and she has described working there as a part-time Production Assistant under General Manager Bob Gourley, whom she credited as an important early mentor. Country Airplay Monitor reported in January 2001 that KKCS had moved Singer and Sherry to mornings, replacing Oakland, who had exited.
Oakland’s professional history then places her at KKPK 92.9 The Peak from approximately August 2001 through December 2010. Her work there included on-air duties and extensive community involvement; the Colorado Broadcasters Association named her the 2009 Major Market Radio Broadcast Citizen of the Year.
She later worked in the Cumulus Colorado Springs group, including country station KATC, before becoming a familiar personality at KKLI/Sunny 106.3. She remained part of KKLI’s local lineup when K-Lite became Sunny 106.3 in 2014 and later served as Assistant Program Director and midday host.
Oakland received additional Colorado Broadcasters Association recognition over multiple years, including the 2021 major-market Community Service Campaign award for an International Women’s Day project. She moved to KOSI 101.1 in Denver for middays in late 2024.
